We were recently contacted by one of our readers – Elicia Clewes. She had discovered a, what she thinks, is an Ivory piece beneath the floorboards of an old church.

The finder explained “ It appears to be ivory, the bent end of it is hollowed out and contains threads. It was found under the floor of an old church.

The church in Cheshire, is Georgian but there have been 2 previous churches on the same site. I thought the item looked like ivory, probably Victorian? Part of a musical instrument maybe?”

Can anybody help identify the artifact? Please comment below and Elicia
