This medieval silver ring was found in a North Staffordshire field… now it’s been declared treasure!

A medieval silver ring found in North Staffordshire has been declared treasure.

The ring was discovered at an undisclosed location last November by a Stoke-on-Trent man who was using a metal detector.

A treasure inquest held at Hartshill heard the ring had been examined at the British Museum and found to date from between 1400 and 1600.

It features a heart design flanked by two quatrefoil flowers and weighs just over five grams.
