A rare Bronze Age gold bulla discovered at a secret location in Shropshire was today officially declared treasure.

Photo: British Museum’s Portable Antiquities Scheme Mr John Ellery, HM Senior Coroner for Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, held a Treasure inquest this morning into the discovery of the rare and important Bronze Age find reported via The British Museum’s Portable Antiquities Scheme during 2018.

The Shropshire Marches Bulla was recovered from an undisclosed findspot in Shropshire during May 2018 by a responsible metal detector user who wishes to remain anonymous.
